Christine, the founder, learned the value of hard work and generosity from her parents, who arrived as poor immigrants to this country. Christine’s encounters with homeless pets during her travels left a lasting impression. She witnessed the voiceless suffering of animals in the streets, especially in regions with scarce resources. Inspired to make a change, Christine founded Little Havana Shop with the goal of supporting nonprofits that focus on helping animals and people in need. One of the chosen organizations is Pawsitively Humane, Inc., which Christine herself incorporated in 2012. This nonprofit is dedicated to educating about how to rescue and care for homeless pets, providing them with medical treatment and finding them loving homes. Entirely volunteer-based, Pawsitively Humane, Inc. has countless stories of rescues like Tommy, Romeo, and Lion King, who have found new leases on life thanks to the organization’s efforts.
Little Havana Shop also proudly supports Lotus House Women's Shelters, a nonprofit that provides protection, housing, and care for women of domestic abuse and their children. By ensuring they have a safe place to stay, and the resources needed to rebuild their lives, Lotus House offers hope and a fresh start to those who need it most.
